I'M Tina Brunetti
My intense love and respect for animals and nature is my inspiration. My goal is to communicate to the world the importance of ecological balance between humans and Mother Earth through my artwork.
I create vivid colorful translucent paintings through the application of alcohol ink to aluminum, steel, copper, titanium and brass sheets. Prior to applying the alcohol ink, texture is added to the metal with an angle grinder. A colorful patina is created on copper sheets with a torch, or an "aged" blue green patina is created by chemically treating the copper. My unique process results in colorful light reflections still visible after the application of the translucent alcohol ink. Layering of pigments and use of a dremel tool to etch fine lines produces a 3-dimensional effect that makes my landscapes and animals come to life.
I live in Loudon, Tennessee with my husband and business partner, David Watson. Between us, we have three grown children and three grandsons. We also have two sweet pups. Even though I was born in St. Louis, I knew that I would one day live near the mountains. When I first visited the Smoky Mountains, I knew where I belonged. My observations of the natural beauty I encounter every day and on our travels are the inspiration for my creations.
I have won multiple awards including three People’s Choice, Favorite Artist, a Merit Award, and an Honorable Mention.
My Artist Statement
While painting my animals, especially protected or endangered species, I am in a zone. I feel like I have been given the mission to remind people of their importance to the earth and the environment. They need to be respected, they need to be safe, they need to be loved, they need to be alive.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
